Nanette Lepore Fall/Winter Campaign
We produced the Nanette Lepore campaign with a ‘simply pretty’ aesthetic, with the goal of encouraging viewers to focus on the patterns, colors, and textures of the designer’s creations. The most crucial ingredient in an elegant campaign is a model who truly owns the frame and captivates the viewer. As a New York fashion photographer, my team benefits immensely from the incredible selection of models in this city. During our casting process, we had the opportunity to speak with many models. However, we were seeking a model who would feel comfortable in a variety of angles and express herself with ease. When we met Fred, a French-Canadian model from outside Montreal, we knew the casting process was complete. Fred has a pure and radiant presence and a lovely personality to match, making her the perfect face for Nanette Lepore.
Creative Direction: Restraint is Key
Restraint was crucial to successfully executing the creative direction for this campaign. Excess destroys elegance. It is the intentional absence of a crowded set, distracting accessories, or complicated hair styles that enables the viewer to focus on what’s important – the designs and connection with the model. Additionally, when choosing and directing creative teams for this style of shoot, it is important to find artists who can accomplish a beautiful look without complexity. Chichi worked magic on this shoot with focus on beautiful glowing skin and simply complementing Fred’s natural beauty. We are proud of what our team accomplished.
