Jesse Lee Soffer for US Weekly and more
Jesse Lee Soffer x Los Angeles Celebrity Photographer Melis Dainon
As a Los Angeles celebrity photographer, I enjoy working with many personalities. Often times, this is a one-and-done sort of situation. We have a terrific shoot that gets published somewhere and then we all move on with our lives, keeping in touch from time to time. Other times, we connect with the people that we shoot and work with them over and over again. Jesse Lee is of the latter category and this gallery highlights a mix of our work together.
In the first shoot, we went for Americana style, well-suited to his role as Detective Halstead on Chicago PD. There were plain white Ts, denim-on-denim looks, and a good amount of black and white portraits. We had James Dean vibes on set thanks in part to very dapper styling by Warren Alfie Baker. The head-on portrait in the plain white T is our favorite look from that set.
The second shoot focused on bringing out a modern sex appeal. The style was a combination of sleek and tough. Playing the role of detective on TV means that he has to both act and train the part. The whole squad trains each week to build their speed, strength, and dexterity in ways that will benefit their characters and enable the stunts that they need to pull off on-screen. Our favorite look from this shoot is the image with the nude top. He looks so modern, fit, and handsome – he is the strong element that grounds the image and demands focus amid the soft light and surroundings.
